I finally spent some time and cleaned up the paint on the Mark. Felt nice after all the mess she's gone through. First couple of pics are off the camera phone and basically before shots.

After 10 years, the tint was in bad shape, so I had to remove it all.

Cleaned up and looking good with fresh tint (35%) all around:

Same from me, it looks great! Can you advise the steps taken and the tools/materials you used to get the paint to shine?

Thanks guys!
Tbirddmnd, I used Meguiars clay bar to clean the paint and followed it up with the Meguiars 3 step wax which includes cleaner coat, polish coat and finally the carnuba wax. Takes several hours but it really shines afterwards. I've been doing this for years with the same Meguiars product and really love the results.

Thanks Manny! It looks really great and your hard work shows! I've done similar with mine using the Meguiars system, but I'm not really done yet! I washed, clay'd, washed again and on some panels did some minor paint correction and removal of scratches and swirls. Porter-Cable buffer/polisher with Adam's Polishes pads and Meguiar's 105, followed by 205. I need to apply the sealant, machine glaze, and then wax, all Meguiar's and applied with the P-C and the Adam's pads. I did the hood and trunk lid so far and I need to do the roof and the rest of the car. In between I hit the car with Adam's Polishes Detail Spray to dry with after washing (by hand with Adam's car wash shampoo). Hopefully soon I'll be able to post pics and I'd like to get as deep a shine as yours!

Thanks again!

Looks great Manny! So when are you going to come to the Northsaide to show off? My paint (and whole car) is looking like crap, but we haven't had a 2nd gen black Mark meet in a long long time!

Thanks! Would look better if I would just sensor lower it already.
Yeah, with all the black 2nd gens floating around, you'd think the meets would be early and often.
2nd Gen meet (or Mark VIII meet) sounds good, have to plan ahead though to throw it on the calendar. Maybe in August?

Nice color and wheels! An all around great looking car! A simple set of 5-spoke chrome wheels I have always thought look great on these cars. Not a fan of the kaleidoscope looking donks. ;)

Thanks, I also really prefer the 5 spoke as I have the Cobra Rs on my mustang and I was thinking about the Kologne wheels before I got my saleen replicas.
