Cobra intake on Mark VIII

FYI:

I got the short (3" less) runner cobra intake and IMRC deletes on the red car yesterday. It replaced the mark VIII intake that had 2.5" shorter runners and a sheet metal bottom on it. The car now runs like a dog, even at higher rpms I think there is a power loss. I am thinking that modded mark VIII intake was a better intake. Hmmmm

how do yo mod the gen 1 intake? what all does the mod involve? is it just cutting the tubes shorter and welding a new bottem on it? If so what do you do about the throttle body clearing the cowl??

it would probably work best if supercharged. i noticed a loss in low end torque with just stock cobra intake and imrc delete plates but alot more power on the top end.

Joe I am thinking you should cut your power losses and sell that modded cobra intake to me.

I never understood why a cobra intake would work better on Gen 1 heads. True individual runners should work better.

Finally got the intake demons worked out. the cobra is back on there and works ok. No difference in power at the track or feeling over the modded mark VIII intake. Just worse 60ft times with no IMRC's.

Soon to change with the Turbo's going on in a couple of months.
