I just have to rant, so I thought I'd start a topic...

Subject says it all:

#1 BY FAR - UPS - "That's Logistics". Take a perfectly fine song and turn it into a cold, sterile, corporate theme song. I want to pull the heads off of kittens when I hear this commercial. (OMFG, IT'S PLAYING AGAIN RIGHT NOW!!! SERIOUSLY! HERE KITTY!).

#2. Any of the numerous Geico commercials featuring the gecko. Am I supposed to think this cockney idiot is cute or charming? He is not! I would pay big dollars to hear his little bones crunch under the heel of Flo from Progressive Insurance. I mean, Geico used to have some really hilarious commercials, the cavemen, the celebrities telling customers' stories, the fake ads... Some of those were brilliant. The lizard? Not brilliant.

I'm pleased to say that I have not seen any of these.. Until now. I wholeheartedly agree that all of the above are terrible. I could not even bring myself to watch them any of them in their entirety.

Oh, we've got Ask Gary up here in the Minneapolis area as well. He seems to have filled the void in city bus advertising left by Denny Hecker, our previous car dealership mogul now doing time in prison.

So at least I guess I don't get to *hear* the ads...

I also don't like the new mini infomercials. Very long commercials. Dragon software and Rosetta Stone to mention a couple.

Whenever I see a commercial I don't like, I change the channel, even if I just come back to that channel in a few minutes. I'd like to think they monitor what people watch and change channels from.

there's one that starts with a group of people shrieking some song at an obscenely high pitch, skipping through a shopping mall swinging shopping bags with something written on them.

I don't know what it is for, because that's all I see before I cringe and hit the fast-forward button. it absolutely deserves a spot on this list. I suppose Christmas ads are sort of in a class all their own.
