You will haver to let us know how the fit is. I know the other place that people have bought piping from is not a high quality fit.

I'm pretty sure Doug's (DLF) exhaust started with one of those kits and he didn't have very nice things to say about it... LOL

Did he post about it? Cant find on search. I mean there's products that work and don't work if it may be off slightly many to beat week maybe what exactly did he have to say about it cuz obviously by looks it looks correct but we all know how that works p the primary pipes from the headers or manifolds still has to be made but that's literally 18 to 24 inches with one bend possibly two

that system is build on the one i designed back in early 2000's , i think the one he sells is actually the one i build for t birds but i had a system for both cars and each was different.

Seriously,.......... And I do not want to offend anyone who wants to improve their vehicle. But do mandrels really make a difference? Once past the exhaust curves, whatever they be,.. do they really add anything worth the effort and price? I seriously don't want to piss anyone off here... But from what I see,.. it's a minute gain on a dyno, but minute. "minute". Did anybody "feel" any difference beyond a self imposed expectation that you're quicker? Really, a loud exhaust can psychologically do that. I'm just seriously asking. And a dyno test is usually a test of the ultimate power of your vehicle that you will rarely use during normal driving. Greater 1/4 mile speeds would likely be gained by trimming aerodynamics, or a lower gear ratio. Trust me,... lower your gear rato and you'll "feel" a quicker car sooner than I would expect a difference from mandrel pipes.

Again, just bringing up the question. I'd hate to see someone putting precious money into something that they expect to see a big pay-off and get disappointed.

I have to ask,.. just asking.

Lost in Translation
paskevich,

A free flowing exhaust system, while not providing huge gains on its' own, will lay the groundwork for future mods. Larger than required pipes on a stock engine will do nothing for performance I will give you, but let's say you decide to go with a C-head swap or a Cobra intake swap. Those pipes will help get rid of the now-increased intake flow. Go blower and the pipes now shine at getting spent gasses out of your heads. Throw some hotter cams in the mix, again the pipes help.
Now, for the argument of Mandrel-bent versus compression-bent (most standard pipes are compression-bent): Have you ever done the math involved with the reduced-diameter at the compression-bend versus no loss at the smooth mandrel-bend? There is a HUGE difference in flow at the bend (which then actually limits the real flow of the exhaust to the greatest restriction). Better flow equals better gains when all other mods are added in.

Is it worth it on a stock car, probably not. However, even the LSCs got duals for increases exhaust flow and allows a better tune to be factory-loaded. It really is in the eyes, ears, and wallet of the individual purchasing and installing the kit as to whether it is worth the money.
