Cooling fan motor replacement

The cooling fan on my Mark went out awhile ago. I picked up a used one to hold me over in the mean time....two years later here I am. The used one is still working, but i want to install a new motor so i'm not stuck with another broken fan.

I ordered a new fan motor from RockAuto, it came in the mail - looks the same as the old one. I drilled out the rivets connecting the motor to the shroud and cleaned everything up for reassembly.

Now, here's my problem. The fan blade does not sit tight on the new fan motor. I can spin the blade and it doesn't grip onto the shaft of the new motor. Is that supposed to be a press/fit/friction fit design, or am I missing something here?

The retaining clip is there, but the blade just spins on the shaft. Rockauto is sending me a new one. We shall see.

Rock Auto has great prices but has been known to ship the wrong item to me. Hell once i even got a used set of bushings someone returned to Rock Auto. I assume they never checked the return box and shipped them right back out to me. Good Luck
