First, have you had the cruise control TSB performed on your car? ALL Mark VIII's were recalled for this very important recall mod. The mod is free. Any FLM dealer can do it, and will know if it has been done by the VIN. The mod has to do with the power disconnect.

does your horn still work? the clock spring in the steering wheel might have broke not allowing the steering wheel controls to work properly.

For recall, I ask to Ford France, answer is: I don't care, it is your problem
Wow. They seriously told you that?

I'm willing to help you through the diagnosis. Problem is there are no less than 21 pin point tests for "Speed Control Inoperative"!

Ready?

PINPOINT TEST A: SPEED CONTROL INOPERATIVE

A1 VERIFY POWER TO SPEED CONTROL SERVO

~Disconnect 14290 harness connector from speed control servo (9C735).

~Turn ignition switch (11572) to RUN.

~With a Rotunda 73 Digital Multimeter 105-00051 or equivalent, measure voltage between Pin 4 (B+, Circuit 687 (GY/Y)) and Pin 1 (GND, Circuit 57 (BK)).

~Is there battery voltage?
The Speed Control Servo is located in the drivers side wheel well behind the inner fender liner.

Attached is a connector pin-out. :)

if the ford dealer told you they dont care, call a lawyer, its a recall and it HAS to be fixed by ford no questions asked. 95 cruise switches do light up from the factory, only 93 and 94 dont light up.

Maybe he can get a hold of Max at Five Star Ford with his vin # and have Max send him the wire pack for the fix. Worth a try any how.

The recall doesn't really have anything to do with the cruise control working.

The switch on the brake line is just a back up switch to cancel the cruise control if the switch at the brake pedal fails.

When the brake line switch fails, it leaks fluid, which can cause a fire.

There are pages of diagnostics and pin point tests. The diagnostics generally first look for wiring issues such as shorts and opens in power or grounds.

So, you got voltage or not? ;)

Wait!
There is a fix for the CC?
TASCA only disabled mine. Can I get my CC back?

Yes, at first, they were just disconnecting the switch because they didn't have the fused harnesses made yet.

Take it back, and they should hook you up now.
