Cylinder COP died, should I change oil after 12 miles drive?

Hi!

One of the COP's in my Mark VIII died on my way back home today, so I drove the car this way for next 12 miles (around 38-40mph at 1500rmp). Read the codes, it was #3 cylinder misfiring, so I've replaced the COP and everything is fine now.

I was just wondering if I should worry about oil being contaminated with fuel now?

BTW. Does it affect O2 sensors too?

Thanks!
Mariusz...

I think you are OK Mario..... it's the same as any plug misfiring..... all you did was run a little fuel into your exhaust..... if the O2 sensor was bad it would have thrown a code.

I have experienced similar failures in my Mark on two occasions. I never even considered the possibility of fouling the oil. :D

it's been a couple years now, and I have experienced no difficulties.

Oil looks and smells like oli :D You're right it should be fine.
Thanks for your opinions!

Do you think COP (Accel) may fail because of spark plugs getting bad?

I've found that there is no pattern or reason as to when they go out, but if one goes out you're better off buying the whole set.

I don't know about that.... I've had mine since 2000 and have only replaced them when they went bad..... I think I've still got 4 originals.

from what I've seen, if 1 goes the others are usually down on power even if they still work, I usually replace the whole set and save which ever ones work as spares
