All 90's Continentals were FWD. Cylinder #5 would be passenger side front.

It is my understanding Ford uses a standard cylinder numbering scheme which would be:

4 8
3 7
2 6
1 5 For RWD

1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8 for FWD.

OCCUPY LoD :)
Changing spark plugs usually won't fix a misfire....you either have a bad coil/wire or boot/bad injector.
