Deer Damage

It finally happened. On my way home from work, a deer ran into the side of my car damaging the fender. When it fell down, it rolled over and almost put a hoof through the driver's door window.

It put a dent in the fender and jammed it into the door keeping the door from opening.

Good thing I'm driving the winter beater.

Good thing he didn't go through your windshield. Those are a big problem here too. Glad you are ok.

Wow, quite a thump. At least you didn't get the typical front end carnage.

Road kill around here has been somewhat less this year, perhaps due to the unseasonably warmer weather.

This car has 7 lives. 3 left.
This car will never die.

Thanks, I did get lucky here, I was only doing around 25 MPH, and I was less than a minute from home when it hit me (it was hit and run).:mad-tilt:

I think I posted a photo of the perp in the picture today thread back in November::D

I disconnected the fender at the bottom near the door and tweaked it back into shape so I can use the door now. I had to bang the dent out a bit to get it to work but the dent is still pretty bad.

Funny thing is, I have both fenders freshly painted in my storage room that I never got around to putting on this car. They are from a parts car I bought a few years ago when I smashed the front corner of this car. I had the hood and both fenders painted at the same time, but I only put the hood on then. The dented fender on there now was from a 97 (wrong white).

Here's a photo after I tweaked it so the door works, there's poor lighting and it's white so you can hardly see the dent.:D

Yep, White Tail are a fact of life in Michigan and you cannot be too cautious. They come out from nowhere, then you can't tell which way they're going. The buck usually sends out a few doe to 'test the waters' then he appears.
