Detroit/Lidio

You know, we haven't been to Detroit for a meet in years. And I keep hearing all these great things about Lidio.

Any of you guys up there want to see if we could do something? I'd love to have Lidio tune my car, and head up to Detroit to have some fun again (promise I'd make hubby bring actual shoes with him).

THis Saturday Lidio is hosting a dyno day to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of his business. I will try to be there to dyno my buddie's 97. But if that's too early, then I'm sure we can schedule something. FYI, Lidio charges $500 for a full N/A tune, which includes an SCT chip with 2-3 programs, several dyno pulls, couple hours of test driving and great customer service. If it were me, it's the only place in the midwest/east where I would take my car.

So I guess I'm in. What dates did you have in mind ?

Yeah, from what you guys have said, I want Lidio!!!

This Saturday would be too early for me to plan. Plus I still don't have my gears in.

Anytime this summer would work for me. Maybe you could ask Lidio this weekend and see what he's got time for?

OK, let's compromise. You don't have to forget it, just get so tied up and work ungodly hours you can't seem to find the place or time to git'r done. xo

Oh, one more thing, move to a redneck state that can't even spell torque converter, let alone dynotune. :7

EDIT: WTH, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. You guys pick a date, Detroit's not that fur. }( }(

Shoot, I think it'd help NOW. My car runs so rich now the tips are rimmed in black soot. That's an 'old-school' indication of running too big a jet in the carb.

That and when your eyes started waterin'. :7

I've noticed that most fords tend to run a little rich at some point. My car puffs black smoke when i get on it hard, and i know at WOT it's running perfect. I've seen stock cars do the same thing. Just a wee bit rich at tip-in.

Yeah, I've been running too rich for quite a while, so the improved gas mileage will more than pay for the dynotune, huh?

We could turn this into a nice big meet - Detroit's got a lot going for it (it's close to Windsor lol).

I for one would like to get my car done at Lidio's. Right now waiting for some parts that are on back order. Hopefully they will get in and I can get all installed prior to the meet, if it is in July.:9

Jeremi, did you perhaps get a chance to talk to Lidio?

If not, if you guys can give me his contact info, I could see what I could set up.

Thanks.

OK, I haven't done this yet. Still waiting for gears for my car, and lots of work issues have come up so I've put it off. I do hope to follow up on this sometime soon, but if anyone else wants to - I'd still do my best to get up to Detroit to at least meet up with everyone.

I've been pretty busy too. Dealing with getting my boat fixed (blowed up the motor already), and i've been on TDY for the last 6 weeks and will be again for the next 2. Throw in the odd wedding/bachelor party plus holidays and the requisite boating (been borrowing/tagging along since mines done been broke for going on a month now) and i don't have a whole lot of time for car stuff.
