you will need to repin the solenoid harness and swap the mlps.
you can also swap the solenoid harness into the new trans from the old instead.

the harness and mlps need to match the car, not the trans.

And the 93 has the roller clutch where the 98 has the OWC which is much stronger, but it will still work with the connector repin and MLPS (or convert the 93 transmission to the 98 with the internal ribbon cable and solenoids).

93 transmission was junk compared to 98.
Yes, you can re-pin the harness and swap out the MLPS but there are several other internal upgrades the 98 had that the 93 doesn't...for a reason.

I'd also swap the TCC solenoid(easy to do with the pan off) and install the 98's pan on to the 93 and use a 98 filter.

But going from a 98 back to a 93 is not advised. You can pick up a 98+ tranny easily these days...I'd rather have a used 98 tranny with 80k+ miles on it than a low mile 93 any day.

give these links a good read and learn the do's and dont's and the 93 vs 98 transmissions

AND HERE'S a link to the wiring...this is to wire a newer trans in to an older car, so you'll be reversing the procedure
