Electric column

Thoughts please...
My column is over extended. Even though the previous owner had the cables installed. I had it working then used the spare keys and forgot to reset the location, so here I am with it back extended again. Anyway....I have seen where you can just purchase the motors. I believe, (from what i have read here), that the motor and reostats are all inclusive. Is it possible to just purchase the motors and install them without the removal of the column? I am thinking about the labor more than anything. Thanks for your help all.

I don't believe so....but you can call Max at 5 Start Ford in Arizona.....if ANYONE can get them, he can. But I just bought a used column. I don't really think they are available.

The motors are fine. The rheostat for the telescopic movement is separate (and I bet you didn't read that here ), and of course not available either. You have to take the column out, apart, repair the rheostat mouting tabs, and reassemble. If you can't repair it, then just move the potenciometer to the max in position, and adjust the column to your liking, then unplug the motor (or remember not to extend it out )

i have 2 used columns in perfect shape, i also have both motors, and some parts to repair a column, i even have a potentiometer too!
