I was just preparing the pile of old cellphones to go to the recycler, when a couple "classics" prompted me to take the following photo. Included a few of the most representative models.

being "ruggedized," I figured the Nextel devices deserved their own category.

I took the picture with my phone, of course.

what can I say? I'm the "phone guy" for a school district.

I also have an operational rotary phone on my desk. :)

Nice!

I don't have a cell phone collection but I do have rotary phones. I still have pulse service.:)

They still work, they were built to last, and they sound better. All my touch tones broke at one time or another (I switch to tone after pulse dialing out, to do menus).

The original tan kitchen phone still hangs on the wall and my living room has a yellow desk rotary.:D

I remember using the one on the bottom left If fit like a glove in my pants pocket but my pants kept falling down. I could have started something.

Hmm... [ dig, dig, dig. ] Like these? I had one in OD Green, too, but I gave it away recently.

The three phones in the back row, are all connected and working. that thing at the back right is a TTY device.

Recently, I pulled some 50's era telephone connected device off of the wall of one of our buildings. It was made by Western Electric, and had four lights. "Test," "Alarm," and "ATTACK WARNING." The fourth light was left unlabeled. it also had a ringer. I pried it off the wall, but have yet to determine how it works. I might have found my new doorbell. :D
