Glitch ballast install

Read through all the threads posted regarding this and only found Mike P's to have any real sort of info but he couldn't get it working in the end and never posted an update :(

I'm wondering if anyone has any tips, pointers, etc. I'm mostly done with it but I'm starting to second guess myself and the more I read Glitch's printout the more I second guess myself... (I do this too often haha)

I have the power and ground all spiced in to the Glitch ballast and I'm now doing to PTO wires. I'm pretty sure these have no polarity as I'm assuming they are AC and the neon just completes the circuit. I don't have the marine shrink tube he suggests to seal up the PTO spices but I do have 3M shrink tube and some adhesive lined from the Ford pigtail kits. Any recommendations here?

Also his wording on the grounding really confuses me... I'm sure I can make heads or tails of it but a little help would be nice :D

The mesh, everyone tapes this up I'm assuming? I don't have any water in my neon and the car just sits in the garage more than I'd like. I should still disconnect it?

OK I figured out the ground... DUH

Am I reading this right that I should NOT solder the PTO wires but just twist them together and shrink tube them?

Thanks!

Thank you very much Doug! I like to solder and shrink tube everything I do but the instructions had me confused when they said: "splice the PTO wires using none insulated splices or solder" obviously the "none" is a misprint but I'm not sure what he was trying to say.

Did you step up the shrink tube as per his instructions or just put one adhesive lined over it?

He was referring to butt connectors (non insulated). I used a single piece of very thick adhesive shrink tubing. If yours isn't thick, it certainly won't hurt to double up.

I have a working neon!

Now once I finish epoxying the (2) broken studs I'll get it back in the car and snap some pictures :D

Nice Micah! I feel they are definitely worth the $100 he gets for them so at $20 it's a no brainer. :)

I'll update this post with some pointers soon enough, I'm still trying to get the adjustment just right...

Can anyone post pictures or video showing the brightness (dimness) of the neon in regards to the parking lights. Either my neon is not as bright as it should be when the brakes are applied or it needs to be dimmer than I have it set. :confused-red:
