going to the dealer

Taking the 94 to a dealer for some trans stuff, flush, filter, and some 5. I don't think the recall for the CC link, under the right fender was done. It still has a white tag on it. I read it should have a blue tag on it, if it's been replaced. No leak, but no CC also. I'll do my best to be a good guy. Ford says it's been done. When parts weren't available, they just disconnected it. Anybody know where they did the disconnect? Thanks TONYyyy

It's under the right front fender liner, forward of the tire, above and to the engine side of the air ride compressor.

Don't let them do anything near the master cylinder, that's a common mistake.

I just bought the kit from the parts department and did the recall myself.

Why taking it to the dealer for a transmission service?

Because I'm old, and it's easier. This dealer flushed, and 5'd my 97, and did a good job. One of the owners likes MK VIII's, and it's a FORD dealer, and the parts mgr gives me good prices on parts.
Bill, I had my 95 done awhile ago. The short wire cable looks like orginal with a white tag on it. I understand that the up-grade should have a blue tag. No leak from the switch. Ford says recall was done, but I don't have any CC. I'll have them check it. Gotta go 9:30 appt. TONYyyy

The mechanic checked, and said the re-call was done.I bought the kit, $27, and will change it again. The kit comes with the switch, and short cable. They used this kit if you had a leaking switch. They had a cable assy about 1 ft long with a blue sticker, that they used if you didn't have a leak. They didn't do any trans work, because they didn't have the right filter in stock. I'll go back next week, no problem, I like it there, everybody's so nice, and I get lots of knowledge.

If you pull the fender liner forward and follow the hard brake line you can see the part. If the connector is not connected and is taped over, go back and tell them politely.........

.......that they're a bunch of tools that won't go the extra step to take a look and discover the obvious. I had the same argument with the Ford dealership here in Vegas. They insisted that their computer indicated completion. I told them I already eyeballed it to verify the connector was just wrapped in electrical tape and disconnected. They finally looked at it and did the work under the recall. Their excuse was that whomever owned it before me must have brought it in for the recall and found that the dealership wasn't stocked with the repair part. So the interim fix to prevent the potential fire was to disconnect and tape off the connector. The owner was to bring it back at a later date to get the work finished. The dealership then documented completion in the computer rather than the interim repair.

Douchebags....

If the recall was indeed done correctly, maybe you have a bad clock spring? Does your horn work? The horn circuit goes through the clock spring too, and if that doesn't work, that's a clue.
