Gonna strap it to a Mustang Dyno

I think ballpark range would be 230-240 RWHP, supposedly less on a Mustang dyno?

When and where?

Might be this week at CRT Performance in Norwalk, OH.
From what I've seen over the years Dyno Jets are a lot more liberal than Mustang Dyno's. Some say MD is more accurate hard to say. Ive always said dyno's were tuning tools and the MPH on the time slip will give you the accurate number.

pulleys will negate due to age/wear of engine.

195 rwhp max is my guess on a Mustang Dyno
Got to be over 200!!!!

How old are your plugs and air filter?

220 is my guess as if you have spent money on pulleys I bet you change your plugs yearly and own a fancy air filter.
Actually I just pulled the stock plugs out this fall. Kinda glad I did there was a bunch of brown crud in the #8 cylinder and on the COP boot.
Just a replacement drop in filter. For a stock 20yr old engine I feel its all I need. Although I have a CAI on my Mustang I've really never been a fan. Most just suck in hot air and there really is no benefit.

Thanks. Let's just say we pushed A LOT of buttons on the laptop tonight. Overall I'm happy with the old girl but we will know for sure what it's got when I put it back on the track.
I have a video don't know if it can be posted to this forum?

So what's the REAL drivetrain loss on a Mark VIII? Thru the 4R and IRS 18,20,25%?
I have to believe more is sucked up thru the IRS vs a solid axle.

The number I have settled on over the years with the Blue Flame is 17%. While I suspect that may be less than average, logic defines some will be higher than average and some will be lower than average.

My engineering background tells me some drivetrain losses will be a fixed number and other losses will be a percentage of transferred torque. Regardless, I'm sure it's a variable loss and not a static percentage of HP and I'm also confident it's not exactly the same car to car, even with the same powertrain.

So unless you have engine dyno results to compare to the chassis dyno results, the real drivetrain loss will be nothing more than an educated guess.

I'd like to see the car run on a different dyno, I'm having a hard time believing those numbers.
