After lurking for a few days it is finally time to say Hello. My name is Matt and I live in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I picked up a 97 Deep Blue metallic LSC last spring. Both my wife and I love this car. It has a nice balance of power and grace. About two months after I purchased the car I was rear ended by a 3/4 ton pickup by a person talking on a cell phone. With the help of some members of another Lincoln forum (who are also members here ) and my son we were able to fix Markus (That is what my wife has named the car) and restore most of his former glory. It was 40 degrees when we finally painted the car in my garage so it is a "Good at 5 foot" paint job. We will have to repaint but not before we remove the 14 years of parking lot dings and bumps this summer. This is a nice forum with a good atmosphere.

Welcome to the club!

I wish people would pay attention when driving near our rare cars!

Hope Markus is as good as new when you're done.

Man, that totally sucks! I would take that cell phone and put it where the phone don't ring!!!
Glad to hear y'all got it pretty well fixed up! Hey, it became a good father/son project!
Just trying to look on the bright side.

Here is a shot of my car right after I bought it.

You can see that I had to replace the passenger door due to the rust in the bottom of the door.

Hi Jeremi, yes the light is working fine but I haven't been able to install the new tray in the back because I still need a new crossmember. Here is a pic of my car I took this morning.

Looks like I really need to paint the front calipers.

Welcome!

That blue is my absolute favorite color for the Mark. I've only ever seen a couple of them.

But unless you use it every day, I'd tuck that block-heater plug back inside the grille. Mine was like that too when I bought it. I think I fixed that before I even drove it home. :)

That is my son's 1981 Fairmont wagon. The bumper was like that when he bought it. We have replaced the 6 cylinder with a carbureted five liter and a five speed standard tranny. At just under 3000lbs with the driver it is a fairly quick street sleeper. My other son owns a 1980 Mercury Zephyr Z7 which has also had a five liter with an AOD automatic swapped into it.
