Bought a '99 Continental that I looked at a few months ago. Seller dropped the asking price to almost half and I bit.

Pretty clean when I looked at it. Pics after the transport company delivers it next week.

Shamefully trying to get to 5 posts so I can view albums and post pics next week....

Looks clean, do they have the center caps?
Good point! Hoping they will be in the trunk with the car cover.

I went to visit my Mom a few months ago in PHX and looked at car for sale 2 doors down. Retirement hood, adult driven.

I'll post more pics once it's home. Our Son lives in PHX and asked me if he should send his purple Halloween pimp hat with the car. :banghead:

I don't think those wheels have center caps that cover the lug nuts, just the hub. I think I have one someplace as a spare to throw on my car, and the center where the lugs are is finished and blends in.

I like any FLM car that color, my 97 Cougar was that color, I nearly bought a Continental that color, but I wasn't ready for 260 hp and FWD, so I stuck with my Grand Marquis.

Looks nice and clean and hopefully the transmission was treated well.

It would likely be best if I left the introduction page and land elsewhere here once I get it home.

Thanks for the welcomes.

Bangster is correct. No covers for those centers. That's what they looked like.

It should be a great car. I always liked that version of the Continental.

Bangster is correct on the wheels.

I did the paypal thing here to join & post bigger pics. I needed to resize the wheel pic real small so I hope I the transaction didn't go through.

I think I realized after that.. that this is mainly a Mark VIII site. I will still appreciate coming here and learning, but I have a Continental.

Pic test...haven't washed it yet. Dirt in the slots. That's me in the lower center.

There was an envelope in the spare tire well with 4 locking lug nuts and the key....17 years and never installed. That will be corrected this weekend.

Thank you for joining the club! We're glad to have you here. We may be "mostly" Mark VIIIs, but all Lincolns are welcome, and I love seeing activity on other parts of the forum. We're all here to help where we can.

My own $0.02 on the locking lug nuts.. Unless you live in a high-crime area, I'd be very tempted to leave them off the car. If the wheels haven't been stolen by now, they aren't too likely to be.. :)

Inevitably, those things will stick it to you when you least expect it. it's way too easy to misplace that key.. Which is specifically why I own the "deluxe" set of these things.. :D

Thanks Steve and tixer. I'm registering it tomorrow and spending the weekend getting to know it.

I live in a low crime rural town but go all over for work. I've been using wheel locks and responsible tire stores for over 30 years and going to put them on.

I'll do what I can to get some action in the Continental section.
