Welcome, Alabama! From Minnesota!

The forum won't let you post a photo until you make 5 or so posts. Trust me though, we all want to see your ride.

Did you just pick it up? Does it have any repairs on the "to-do" list?

Yes it needs a few odds and ends but the only major work it needs done is the paint retouched on trunk and back bumper. I need to replace chrome accent that runs along bottom of passenger door and I need one center cap on rear passenger. The paint I can put off but the chrome strip and center cap just absolutely big me so I have to fix asap

WOW, You have found a nice ride, an LSC model and you have the rare "octastar" rims, excellent find! Not a fan of the kickplates on the bottom though, just my opinion

When I finally paint it I may opt to leave those off, I didn't know if those were factory installed or aftermarket. Appearance wise I want it to look as if it rolled of assembly line a few days ago. Also I know this isn't the place but I'd like to ask about a headlamp issue, my low brands simply stopped working, high beams are fine. I assumed it was a fuse issue but after checking all fuses none are blown. Wondering if they just need to be replaced

The low beams on these cars were one of the first available HIDs, and used a bulb that you can't buy (new) anymore. It is possible that both of yours have burned out, but it's also possible that someone has already installed an aftermarket kit and it has failed..

Probably the first thing to do is pop the hood, and pull up the two plastic panels on either side of the hood latch. They're held in place with a kind of stiff Velcro. Pull gently though, as I've seen the Velcro come off the plastic and stay stuck to the car.. Once you get those out, you should be able to see the wiring for the headlights, and the Ballasts. I'm guessing it'll be fairly obvious if it's still the factory setup or the aftermarket one.

Does anyone else have any thoughts? How likely is it for both low-beams to fail at once?

For reference, there's a lot of good headlight discussion in this thread:

Are they're any fuses that control ballast possibly,I checked all listed as having anything to do with headlights in manual. Any way I can check to see if there is any fix besides replacement

I wish I had more experience with this system. I have to assume that a fuse does exist that would control these.. possibly even a relay. If you have a volt-meter, you could try checking for voltage at the ballast, and working your way back from there?

Lost in Translation
Sounds like a ballast issue (but these ballasts are pretty bulletproof really. If the car IS NOT your daily driver, I would yank the low beam bulbs, test them to see if they are good, and if good, SELL THEM to fund a headlight conversion from Jay (member here). His conversion will allow you to run newer HID bulbs and not have to worry about selling your first-born child to afford OEM bulbs.

Nice that the car has the Octis........not the most common wheel and (to me) the best looking factory wheel. I would have to agree with others on ditching the aftermarket rocker treatment........... Black cars look best ALL Black! :)

Yeah I didn't know that the low beams were that big of a prob to replace. I'm going to try a few things over the next few days and I'll let you guys know what the problem was when I find out. What is the conversion kit running price wise and is it hard to do the switch? I'm no mechanic but I can do anything that's pretty straightforward car related
