Hey MN Wild Fans!

Well, first off, sorry I'm MIA a lot.

My brother, whom I haven't seen in years, has moved from CA to Duluth.

We both love hockey, especially the NON REGULATION LOSING team the Blackhawks, although we lost to the Wild in a shoot out, but everyone who loves hockey knows that doesn't count (and apparently you Minnesotans take your hockey very very seriously).

So there's a Hawks at Wild game on Tuesday, 4/9 at the Xcel energy center, and I'm hoping to find a way to get some tics, and meet up with my Bro there to cheer on the mighty Hawks.

If this happens (I'm pretty sure we'll find a way to make it happen), I'd love to meet up with you guys. Also posting to see if anyone else would like to see the game, as there is a discount or something for group tickets (8 or more), although my bro says if he's driving down, he wants good seats :).

So let me know what you think, or if any of you have tics to the game to sell, or have connections or whatever. I can't plan this right now, some stuff is going on, but hope to get on this soon.

Let's Go Hockey!

I'll ask the friends and family if anyone has tickets. Minnesotans love their hockey, and as such I'm sure these games are sold out and/or expensive. (the short season likely compounds this.)

You should also suggest that your brother follow the University of Minnesota Duluth hockey team. I guess they just got a new arena up there, and they're pretty good.

You know you've got a place to stay if you need one. Your Bro is welcome too, of course. I'm about a 20 minute drive from the Xcel center.

Gee, reading back you'd almost think I liked sports and know what I'm talking about..

update. no luck so far, but apparently if you want tickets for the "Chicago wolves" whoever they are, I can hook you up.

LOL, Chicago Wolves are close by and we have seen them in the past, AHL is fun and cheap, but they feed Vancouver now, so the Ice Hogs from Rockford are who we'd go see if anyone.

There are tics, it shouldn't be a prob exactly (although not as cheap and available as tickets in Detroit, haha), especially compared to prices/travel times/parking fees here. I appreciate you checking.

And last night Bro Mike (OK, do you know how many Mike's I have on my cell phone?) said they introduce high school players by saying the opposing team sucks? He said it was the top of the HS teams, but still, that's pretty hardcore.

And I appreciate and will probably take you up on the offer to stay, lol. Bro will probably just take a day off work, but I still told him if he does come down, I want someone who knows cars to at least check his car out for issues (it's a 20 year old Taurus).

I can try for a military discount, can prob only get up to 4 though. I'll let you know. And I'm allways up for a LOD meet.

And if it's at mikes house my mark will be there! :p

Hey, he just moved from CA, so it's not like that at all. :)

And really, the last time my brother and I saw a Hawks game together was at the old stadium, against the RIVAL North Stars. ;) And yes, Tixer knows how much that meant to me from our last photo shoot. It's not the same now that the Stars went to Dallas. Our rivals are the dead-Wings and Vancouver now. I think. It'd have to be an old crowd to get worked up against the Hawks jerseys we shall wear.

I don't want to get tics yet, til I find out how many are going.

Oh wow, I hadn't ever seen that fight before!

I know its not the same, I was "still am" a die hard Northstar fan.
Having a hard time getting worked up for the wild, Mn has such good hockey I have lost interest in the pros.
The wild have had some good seasons, there good on paper right now.
The singing of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter had me going a little, but then the lockout killed any excitement I might have acquired.

I have not been to xcel energy center for a game.
I Miss the Met center and hate the MOA, so I fit into the old crowd mold :)

Wait... I'm still on... you have a brother? :D
Kinda like when you found out I had a sister?

Yep, he's 2 years younger than I, and his birthday is one day before mine. We did everything together as kids, and then still hung out sometimes to do stuff when we were in college and after, but he moved to the West coast a long time ago.

So you up for a hockey game? Alcohol is always involved.

Yeah, I get it. I stopped watching hockey for a LONG time when Bill Wirtz had TV blackouts and all that. Now that Rocky's in charge, it's so much easier to follow them. I'm actually not a bandwagon fan, just missed about 20 years of hockey in there somewhere..., but the sound of cold steel on ice always gets my heart racing. :D

The lockout had me pissed, but Rocky and Toews have this way of making you think they had nothing to do with it, and Hawks are giving out TONS of free stuff to fans to make up for it.

The Wild are looking good, except their uniforms which make them just look like elves.

I agree the uniforms are horrible.

I cant tell if red trees are pointing down or green trees are pointing up.

These are OK.

As the former owner as the one and only (apparently) Taurus ever sold with a 4-banger, that's the one I remember so vividly. same color(s) too...

I did have it airborne once.
and partially submerged in a river once.
and most of the front plastic was held on with bailing wire.

I suppose in hindsight it was probably a decent car... :D

Oh an old 2.5L... Hope you had it with an MTX :D That was the only cool thing about them! I never owned a Gen1 Taurus but I love my Gen2 and Gen4.

I apologize for the thread hi-jack Trixie... :)

NP on thread hi-jack, it can turn fun :)

Unfortunately, due to my brother's work schedule, it does not appear that this is going to happen. :( I am seriously bummed, family, friends, beer and hocky just sounded so great.

Oh well, maybe the playoffs? Although I'm guessing unless someone knows someone, those tickets will be outrageously priced.
