How to total Gen 1

have HID's, a decent paint job and a sunny day.

then let a kid in a Toyota pick-up back in to it...

grill, hood, HID's, brown chrome, corner light, bumper cover, and paint.

$4500 estimate.

The HID housings are not brown...it was dusk and the sky was orange from a local fire...they're actually pretty clear.
I bought it back and am selling it to Tommy. It's got Octastars(flawless), gen 1 HID housings (not damaged), and a decent interior. Not sure if he'll part it out, save it for parts, or fix it and drive it.

if he decided to sell any parts, I'll let you all know but PLEASE dont ask yet...he doesn't even have the car yet.

Hell I have an ok grill and corner lights I'd let go cheap if you do fix her. Hate to see it parted out.

Sorry to see that Craig, but it's only totaled because you had collision coverage on your insurance. For my $2-3,000 cars I don't bother with collision coverage.

That's not much damage really.:)

Take the money ($4k), buy it back, buy the parts for a few hundred bucks, put the new used parts in, and treat yourself to a steak dinner and a nice bottle of scotch.

I did one better.
played hardball with HIS insurance co.
Got paid 2x what I paid for the car, bought it back, sold it to Big Johnson and bought a 98 LSC, and saved enough for a LOT of steak dinners.

UPDATE!

stripped some used parts off the Chameleon Blue 95 and patched up the black 95.

replaced fiberglass header panel, grill and support frame, and chrome top trim.
Also had to replace the aftermarket HID ballast while in there.

here's the repair AFTER photos

Tommy has the car sold so we had to fix it back up...all in a day's fun.
