I need some Help on this Idea

Ok Mods, I am not sure if I posted this in the right forum if I didnt please move it and accept my apologies. OK here is the dilema, a little over am onth ago I purchased a 95 Cougar XR7 near mint condition with 35K on it, I pad a pretty good price for it and I wont mention that right now as I am unsure if I paid to much for it. However I have been playing with the idea of selling it and buying a Gen 1 Mark I have found two 94 Mark VIII's one with 94K for 1900 OBO and one with 99K for 1800 OBO the one with 94 is blu/blu and the one with 99K is wht/gry. I have missed my Mark 98 blk/tan since I got rid of it about a year and a half ago. Now I went to four different dealerships today to get pricing to sell ti to them. The lowest I got for my XR7 was 1800.00 and the highest was 4,000.00. One of the dealerships told me to put it on Auto Trader for 6995.00 I have all the paperwork on the car from the original window sticker, and sales agreement to all the car was receipts. I know you all make think I am crazy for selling a car with 36K for one with almost 100K I love the Cougar but I would really like a Mark instead, any ideas? if I should do this or not? Should I take the 4K from the dealer or do you all think I could get more? I would be taking a loss if I took the 4K, but the blue mark I am looking at I would need to get now and I dont have 2K sitting around since I just bought this Cougar. Any help would be great, excuse the spelling trying to type fast before dinner.

That's a tough dilemma.

I guess it depends what you want it for. If, like you stated before, you plan to use the Cougar as a daily driver, I think it would be more economical and possibly more reliable in the long haul than a Mark VIII. Especially considering the mileage on each. Certainly the Cougar would be cheaper to repair than the Mark VIII.

How about 'none of the above'? Keep the Cougar(though you could advertise it at 6995 or whatever you would take for it). There will be more Mark VIIIs as time goes by. Start a 'rescue' fund and keep an eye out for one that you just can't pass. Chances are, you can get a '93-'94 for less than $2K, or you may be able to justify more for a later model. I wouldn't necessarily let the mileage scare you. Drive 'em all as you stumble across contendees and see which one sells itself. You'll know the one. ;)

Sell the cougar for 4 grand

go find a nice $4000 mark 8

of course, if you paid more for the cougar, you will want to ask more. that's pretty low mileage on that car, and i'm sure it will serve you well, but if you want a mark, get a mark!
