I gotta tell you a funny story. When I bought my last Mustang GT, the guy that lives, actually lived, across the street from us came over admiring it, and said "Man, how do get your wife to agree to let you buy all these cars?" I replied in rather saracastic tone that I didn't have to ask my wife. If wanted a new car I just went out and got, and if she didn't like it she could leave or get over it. }> He didn't wait a week before he brought home this really nice black Trans AM. :) It was on Saturday, she had been home alone all day with their three kids, he came in about dark, went into his garage, brought out some lights, set them up so she could get a good look, then let her come out to see the surprise. You could hear her screaming down the street. I don't think that was the sole cause of the divorce, but it was sure the catalyst. He was sent packing the next day, and she still won't speak to me, that was in 93.

So while I may already know that I'm going to do something, I make real sure that I talk my way up to it.

That said, I'll be leaving tomorrow around noon. May go up thru KC and across or via Chicago, just depends on how the mood strikes me when I get to Dallas. See friends in New Providence, NJ over the long weekend, see my son in Bayside, NY, spend most of next week with my daughter since she's working swing shift and we can play during the day. Then cruise over to Carlisle on Thursday.

See ya later,

Lee

Ok... I will be there on Thursday along with some of the NE crew.

Stopping in NYC is still up in the air, I'm working on it.

For anyone who manages to join our caravan or meets us at the hotel, I'll be transporting champagne with me for our arrival Thursday. I've stolen a dozen champagne flutes from work and will have emergency cups should there be more then a dozen of us. Anyone and everyone welcome to join in out toast.

Your choices are Moet & Chandon (White Star) or Veuve Clicquot (Yellow Label), however if I run out, then your 'choice' is Andre (also stolen from work)... which we all know is crap… so don’t be late!

I will be arriving on the showfield early Friday morning, but I don't think I can beat Bill Hamilton to the showfield.

My wife and I will be arriving Friday afternoon to check in at the Radisson, heading home on Sunday.

Is anybody planning to go to the track on Friday night?

Last year we only had one member go on Friday night. It's a short 1/8-mile track and he said he had traction problems running high 9's and low-10's at 73 to 75 mph. It's really a long trip for me to make back with a broke car so I've always passed (LOL).

I should be there by noon or so on Friday.
Leaving Queens @ 10 am.
Anyone else leaving around that time or later,
as I would like to drive up with someone.

From Queens to Carlisle is about 200 miles. If you leave at 10 AM and plan to be there at noon, you need go at an average speed of about 100 mph.

Slow down! :)

Things I'll be saying over my four-day Carlisle trip:

......Yes, Dear I'll slow down. No I'm not racing that Chevy. Didn't you "go" at the last stop when I got gas? What do you mean you're hungry, wasn't that Coke and candy bar enough at the last stop? Come on get up, the gates open at 0700 and I need to be there before Alexander. Here take this $20 and go buy you something to drink, I'm not leaving my car. Yes Dear, I know I washed it yesterday but today Geno will be here and I want to whip his butt again this year. Oh my gosh, they're having a bikini contest? Really Sweetheart, that's terrible, I had no idea...ugh Sweetheart, how about you staying here with the car while I go over to the pavillion and ask Steve and JD some "computer" questions? ...

Geno you won't be attending this year??? We are all going to miss the flaming hood demonstrations! But with the weather predictions you may have had a hard time setting it on fire...
