Minus three here, and that's not even counting wind chill. I've lived in the midwest all my life and I will never get used to the cold.

Been right at 0 F for a few hours now this morning, still is at 09:40. But the sun is shining.

we got 44% at 20 deg, a lot more moisture, remember it is relative :)

Construction quality and insulation is everything up here. It makes all the difference in the world. Although since my house is almost 90 years old, it has the former, but not the latter. Even with the 90+ furnace, my heating bills run close to $180/month. Having a relatively smart thermostat helps too..

Actually, I can say from visiting MN that it "felt" colder there than here, and I am not sure why.

Same here Mark. I grew up with this, yet have never left, not even for college. This is making dog training more difficult, btw.

$180 is not bad, how is your t-stat programed and what sq ft are you heating?

I have to go into work today or i would have my wood burning insert going, I can't rely on anyone to keep it going, so i have to do it. it is all set for tonight. It helps reduce my bills a lot. This year i have gone through a lot of wood, over 2 cords, i have less then one cord left, i may have to split another 1/2 cord to finish out the winter.

I'm surprised my car started but I kept it in the garage over night so it was only 9* instead of the -12* outside. We got told at work today to limit work outside to only 20 min an hour for up to 4 hours today....Government work is hard :) Actually I get to be in the shop soldering most of the week instead of the flight line.

I spent last year in TX and the 8 months of sweating doesn’t make up for the two weeks of nice weather I had, I'll take the cold please.

I just got my bill $108 for gas, but my house is from the 50’s and recently updated. So it was not as bad as I was thinking, we will see after this cold snap though.
