I've been diagnosed with a terminal illness

I have been diagnosed withh a highly contagious disease, it's presently in it's middle stages and it's only going to get worse. I’m told it primarily infects males. There is no known cure for this disease. Your wife or girlfriend has the only sure known cure and it'll take awhile for her to cure it. Women generally are immune to this disease, but occasionally some catch it also. Early signs of this disease include daydreaming, ordering catalogs from places like Jegs and Summit and joining and spending time on web sites about, you guessed it... cars. Some of the latent symptoms of this disease are hiding new auto parts, trying to beat the UPS delivery man to the door, stashing cash in inconspicuous places for mail order items, watching eBay for that ever elusive, once in a lifetime, great deal, asking questions and pondering answers on forums about, you guessed it... cars! I tried to deny that I have this disease which only means that I'm in denial. I've now learned to accept it... embrace it... it is the first step to the long road of recovery! They are working on a quick cure for this disease and they're not sure if it'll work yet... it involves shock treatment... each day they inform me about the cost of a gallon of gas. So... for now, I just accept I have this disease... and hope and pray they never find a cure!

Some people might call it "self-medicating"...

I call it enjoying a well prepared cocktail... :D

So what's you're sayin is....you always feels better after a good burnout? Yeah, me too.

The snow will melt soon....and maybe you can help with that? two smoking tires at a time. LOL

I'm sorry Leo, there is no real cure for what you have. Just continue with the doctor's advice.

Hi Leo.
I am very moved to hear of your incurable diagnosis.
Please find some comfort in the knowledge that you are not alone.
Knowing all too well that there is no real cure it seems all anyone can hope for is to make those with this diagnosis as comfortable as possible.
The only known treatment is, copious exposure to shiny mechanical things and the aroma therapy of high octane fuel burning and burning rubber.
Seek these elements out wherever you can find them, its good for the soul.

Nice thing is that it is NOT terminal!
Sure it is... I'll be down with it til the day I die!

And let me take this opportunity to say Thank You to all my dear friends here at the LOD. Your love, support, and words of encouragement have given me new incentive to forge ahead and accept this diagnosis for what it is and to accept the fact that there is nothing I can do to rid myself of this affliction.

Someone told me alcohol kills all germs but I'm still down with this despite the rather large number of Martinis I've consumed. :fart
