L & R Lower Door Hinge

Both my doors creak/snap when opened/closed. I know there are flat spots on the rollers. Are repair kits available or perhaps new hinges?

I was told that the fender has to come off to reach the nuts inside to remove the bolts? Anyone removed or replaced/repaired the hinges?

Now that I thought about it, you also need to remove the felt sound deadener at the rear of the wheel well.

Gees, Jamie. I thought you said you got rid of everything!!!! If I had known (before I purchased the repair kit) I would have contacted you!

i got rid of everything in my shop, there are still lots of parts in my garage. but my father in law has thrown away sooooo many parts in the last 2 trash pick ups. boxes and boxes of parts going into the back of the trash truck. not alot of stuff left i'm actually loving it, seeing all them parts get thrown away, its like saying goodbye to the last of a 12 year nightmare for me. i cant believe he finally broke down and threw away so much stuff, you guys would have cried seeing it all go.

OK....got the 4 bolts out..... do I have to remove the door completely to replace the lower hinge?

4 bolts (2 at the door, 2 at the post) and one nut right ? You have to remove the driver's kick panel to access it.

Yeah, we figured it out.... that inside nut is a SOB!!! Also Had to loosten the upper door side bolts and lift door to remove the lower hinge..... passenger side should be easier!

Passenger side door got the Pytko treatment. Found out on the drivers side that all that had to be changed was the plastic wheel. So all we did on the passenger side was took a grinder to the hinge enough to us a drift and hammer to the pin holding the wheel on and reinstalled the new wheel and new drift pin. A little primer and silver frost rattle can and it's good as new!!!

First side took 2 hours, pass side took 20 minutes!! Photos to follow after the camera battery charges.....

Drivers side after replacing:

See the difference here on the passenger side.... see the ground out area so I could tap the pin out to replace the plastic wheel.....

You can replace that roller accessing it thru the fenderwell area with the door fully shut. There is plenty of clearance then to tap the pin out.

I see overspray :)
