I think, (oops there I go again thinking), it would be nice if everybody's location would be on their posts. You could be talking with somebody, and they could be just down the road.

Yup. That's why I've always made a point to have my location data filled out also. I can't imagine I'd be all that easy to track down from that, if someone had ill intent.

A few years back, someone tried linking in a mapping site that everyone posted their location to. I liked the idea, but don't think it gained much traction. (heh.. car puns)

Perhaps formally ask members to join "Official " regional, state, or city LOD chapters. If some are leary of giving specific location, maybe a state or region will work. Maybe have a selection made during the renewal process, or perhaps assign a generalized location from where payment was sent with an op out checkbox for those who wish to remain anonymous.

Back in the day when the club was big we had regional chapters. We still have the forums but no activity on local levels.
