When you reserve under your name, do you pay now?I just got off the phone with the hotel. The official LOD block still has 8 openings! I guess everyone has been reserving under their own names? I'll be there in June!

They put the card on file. Pretty sure there is no payment this way until you stay there.

I would ask what their cancellation policy is.
Most generally, reservations made with a CC over the phone (or online) can usually be cancelled by a certain time the day of arrival with no charges to the card. Carlisle area hotels are usually booked solid for the event weekends. They may have a less than customary cancellation notice period?

Staying in a different hotel but I will be on field with you guys on the field, I hope I called and added the group to my registration after I registered and they said they added it so i hope it was done

Just registered the 25th Anniversary Town Car as part of the LOD showfield. We'll probably stick with our reserved hotel room as we're only staying one night.

We will NOT be there this year for various reasons. I do have a hotel room registered, not in the LOD block, with my AARP discount. Dates of 6/6/13 to 6/10/13. I'll keep the room for a while, so if anyone here wants it, let me know and we can go about switching the reservation.
Edit: That's a Thursday check in with a check out on Monday. June 7 and 8 show a rate (again it is AARP I don't know if I can transfer the rate) is 149.40 per night, with Thursday and Sunday nights at 135.90, although I also think tax is not included in that quote. If anyone is coming through Chicago and needs a place for a stop-over or wants to visit, please let me or Beerdog know.

I hope those various reasons solve themselves between now and then. Carlisle won't be the same without you both.As for the room, the hotel has always been more than happy to let me put a room reserved by someone else on my own card. I'd guess that rate is good for anyone

OK, some of the reasons:
Expensive trip and stressful for me, would kinda like a 1 year break, and maybe be able to do a few more smaller meets this year. I thought we might be able to do a leg of the power tour, but doesn't it figure, this year it is nowhere near us.
Bestest reason: My brother (also named Mike hee hee) can come visit that week to celebrate our birthdays (his is one day before mine), and just do stuff around here since he hasn't been here in years. He misses some of the golf courses (and hubby misses golfing), probably some of his friends who may still be around here, and for some reason he became a White Sox fan (we're northsiders!). Who knows... if the hockey gods allow we may still watch a hockey game together.
Tixer, I'd just need to be sure that someone takes it as I have a choice privilege account and they would charge my credit card, especially if the person doesn't want all 4 nights. But there's plenty of time.
I know I'm REALLY going to miss some people, the ones who only go to that show, but hope that we'll find a way this year to get out and see most of you at other meets.
