Lost in the World of Wheels....

Im just starting to look for wheels, even though realistiaclly I wont get any untill next year at this time. Im trying to find sometihng that will work. Just when I think I find a style that I like, I find out that they arent made in our size. Im seriously considering doing a MUstang Hub swap, cause this is pretty irritating. The dude at the custom car shop laughed at me this afternoon when I told him that I wanted something with a 5 on 4.25 (108) bolt pattern. As the day went on I realized how uncommon it actually is...

Point: Does anyone have any sugesstions on wheels for my mark?? The only reqirements are that it fits, it is chrome, it is 18" and it has at least a little lip on it. I dont want those flat looking FWD car wheels. Even a company to check out. Im so lost...

Did you investigate the rims that Geno has for sale? They might be 17" instead of 18". One of our members in Toronto (Huggiebear) has them on his MarkVIII and they look great! More pic's are available if you'd like them and HuggieBear doesn't mind. Actually, I hope to feature his car next on our chapter web site in a few weeks. I'm so jealous!

I really like the looks of the wheels that Geno has, but (I may be too picky) they are only 17s and they just feel a little too 'open' for what im looking for. Plus they are getting pretty common, I want to really stand out without mudering the car or copying anyone. I know I'm wierd.

On a related note, I found these wheels and did a quick Photochop. The pic that I found kinda sucked, but I like the looks of the wheels. They might actually look more like 19's, but you get the idea...

after looking around more an more, I keep seeing many of albas products and liking them. They are distictive, but not insane and they just have the curvy flowingness to them...

in all seriousness if it falls through, please let me know. I will put off the stereo till the winter and do wheels now if it works out like that. Otherwise, Im pretty sure that by the end of the summer I will own those Banks. I just hate to have to have them sit in my garage all winter, wishing they were on my car....

I will admit that the bullits are tempting. However, they are still wheels from annother car. Ill photochop it and see what I come up with...

Ray - If you did sell you 18's before you got your new 20's I have a set of 4 20-spoke chrome directions with flaking chrome and bald tires that I would sell for really, really cheap.

I actually have 10 Mark VIII rims, not including the rims on the red Mark VIII I am selling ;-)

Will AT italia inox 18's work for a MARK VIII? I really like the look of those rims, but its pointless to spend $1400US plus shipping (I live in Toronto) for only 1 inch. I think MARK VIIIs look best with 18+ chrome 5 spoke dubs!!

Nothing wrong with the snow flakes. I love mine. I think they scream, "HELLO, I'M STOCK", which is what I want as I go roaring past the poor unsespecting fool who thought he may have a snowballs chance in hell at hanging with "Granpa's Car".

Besides, those snowflakes wrapped in BFG KDW's in 245, 50 look pretty good, IMHO.

The lacy spokes are VERY LIGHT. I weighed a few sets as follows:

Lacy spoke W/ OEM tires = 37.0 LBS

10 spoke chrome W/ OEM tires = 47.2 LBS

17X8" Chrome Bullitt's w/255/50R17 = 54.3lbs

Light wheels feels much better on the car - you WILL notice the difference.
