I PUT THE BAUMEN SHIFT KIT IN MY CAR AND NOW IT WONT TAKE 3 rd gear I think I messed up my Damn separator plate in 2 spots it says to drill that was already bigger than the bit they said to go with in the kit so I think I need a new separator plate

On the part where it says to drill the spots for B,andC hole it said some models my be larger I took that as if they at go to the next size up bit and for the B hole it was already bigger than the number5 bit so I drilled it out to the number6 bit and the C hole said use the number4 bit well it was already bigger than the number5 bit also so I went with the number6 bit and the D hole said do with the number6 bit so I drilled all 3 holes with the number6 bit and I think that was a very bad idea now and I didn't use the spacers for the 2nd to 3rd torque correction servo nor did I use them in the 3rd to 4th torque correction servo I didn't think it was necessary but I guess it is

So on just 2 of the holes..hole B and hole C I am going to spot weld them up and drill them to the right size that it says to in the kit

And the only other thing I did was I got the upgraded main pressure regulator and the upgraded bypass valve and did them right

Baumann has some great customer service, I'd try giving him a call tomorrow. He knows these transmissions very well and I'm guessing he's heard of the situation you are in.

I called them this morning and he couldn't figure out y it won't take 3rd. Does it sound like everything I explained was kinda close to what you did in yours?

He said since I drilled out the B and C hole to the number6 bit he don't know if me going back in and adding the spacers will help or not

Obviously you made a lot of assumptions and one or more were wrong.

For the price of a separator plate, I'd start over. ;)

I'm going to take the bottom spring out of 1-2 and 2-3 accumulator like in the jmod and see if that works

The only reason I didn't do the spacers in the first place is cause the kit said that is optional that's y I'm stumped I think 3rd my have been close to going out but I don't know we will see I'll let y'all know what happens lol

Yea I have thought about that actually I got a question can I put a 2000 and up tranny in my 94 or are the plugs different?

plugs are the same, pinouts are different. so is the solenoid resistance. the answer is to swap the wiring in the trans so it stays with the car.
the valve bodies are different year to year. not sure on interchanges.
