Mark 8 newbie

Hey guys,

I'm new to the Mark 8 and picked up a 97 LSC with 65k miles. Having it delivered next week. The front is sitting on the ground and I was wondering, if the compressor is bad won't the back drop too? I would like to save the air ride if I can and only convert it if I absolutely have too. Thanks for the add.

Front air springs are probably bad. No longer available from Ford. Some after market out there, but the quality can be marginal. Lot of info on here to diagnose the air ride.

... if the compressor is bad won't the back drop too? .
The front tries to air up first, once it reaches normal height then the rear will try to air up. So if the front solenoids open and the compressor output is not sufficient (or if there is a line leak), the front will drop while trying to raise, the system will either time out or shut down and the rear will not ever attempt to raise. Thus the front could be dropped and the rear may be at normal height if the compressor fails.

Got the car to the shop and on the rack. The drivers side front air bag was cut and not from normal use if you know what I mean. Went to Arnott and bought the conversion yesterday. Can't wait to drive it.

Sorry to hear that about that, man. Not cool...

Glad it was a "clear" solution though.. Good luck with the conversion kit!

Conversion kit is in and the ride is suprisingly good. Went to get it aligned this morning and there are no camber eccentrics on the rear. Where can I find the upper rear eccentrics? Anyone have a part number?
