I have a 97 mark viii lsc and the alarm keeps going off for no reason at all. Does anyone know how to disable the whole system? Help much appreciated.

On my car, (also a '97) You have about an 80% chance of setting off the alarm when unlocking the driver's door with the key, too. I'm sure there's a switch in there, but I've never bothered investigating. I just use the keypad to unlock the door instead.

I tried unplugging the hood sensor and I got the same result. Is there a specific thing in the glove box that I could unplug and just disable the whole entire system?

Try locking the car manually, using the plunger on the door. That leaves the alarm off.

If it still goes off, it's the panic circuit, not the alarm.

Here's a diagnostics test you can try too:

Where is the panic circuit? I unplugged the horn but the flashers stay on for about a minute then they go off. But I hear clicking from the fuse box in the engine and in a module in the glove box.

Oops, sorry, I was thinking about the gen 1, the panic is in a separate module, the key less entry module in the trunk.

I think the gen 2 just uses the SCIL module for both.

What can I do just to disable the whole thing? my car won't start due to the alarm going off. Right when I open the doors the system goes off for about 2 minutes and then it will shut off till the next time I open the door and after it shuts off after going off for 2 minutes my car still won't start. So I was thinking that there must be something I could do to disable the whole system so I can at least get my car started. And then figure out the issue.
