Thanks folks, that's a warm welcome!
I've been looking for a Mark VIII for a couple of years. Silly me, I kept holding out for the "best price." I'd a been better off if I had gotten the first one I seriously considered a couple of years ago. But, o well, live and learn.
I found this one on Ebay, from a private seller in Texas. I've never bought a car online, so I was kinda concerned that something would go wrong. Turns out the seller was honest, and the shipping company was too. I'm happy with the transaction!
It needs some work. I've been reading the forums for a while, so I was familiar with all the things that the seller said it needs. Blend door, Rear shock mount upper bushings (it's on springs), windshield wiper switch. So, I'm pretty well prepared (I think) to tackle the jobs. I'm not a mechanic, but I have turned a wrench or two over the years. It's got a couple of parking lot dents, and needs some paint touch-up on the bumpers, but it's drivable. Eminently drivable! I've been tooling around town today, and I'm jazzed! I've been driving that '94 Chevy Extended Cab in the background for the past 17 years, so now I have to learn to drive a car again. A really awesome Luxury Sport Coupe at that!
I'll get better photos when I get a chance. For now, it's too much fun to drive to sit around taking pictures.
