Twas fun. I remember you using the term "absurd" I think it was?:D Pssh, it's a dog around town.:p You should've been with me on the highway up against the brand new SS Camaro on the way back from Kansas when I bought it. Tixer can tell you a little bit about that. The car has an enormous amount of power on the highway when it is just a throttle flick away from being full boost. This car is screaming for a 4000 stall converter and kooks. It will be lots of fun when I get around to it with some time and money. I only put about a city block on the Camaro this time around. Maybe next time we'll make it 2.

Thanks again guys!

Question, I have a trickle charger on the car's battery and it has been that way since October when I parked it. I checked on it in January and it started just fine but had just an ever so little bit of corrosion on the positive clamp coming off the charger. I just wiped it off. Now, I haven't even been to the car since January when I gave it a mid-winter startup. Should I be checking on it more often or pulling the battery out entirely for the winter?

Lookin' Awesome, Kirk.. :D

As for the battery, I tend to pull mine, but I think you are doing what most do..

Ok good. I'm just such a nervous nelly when there is a power source hooked up to a battery in a car that I never see. I always fear something will go wrong or the battery will cook but I do know that the battery tender has safety features.

not to worry you excessively, but i have had a battery explode before.
the trans was out and the battery was on a charger.
came home and found battery pieces in my front yard.
(the hood was up, and the engine supported because the k member was removed.)
could have been way more exciting if the hood was closed...
if it going to sit excessively, i would remove that battery and store it inside somewhere cool and dry.

Ugggh. Dammit Chris. :(

Was this a trickle charger though with safety features?

You're going to make me go check on the car and probably bring it home. I really don't want to yet, but you're giving me bad visuals. :frown: Gawd, some of these roads around here are just wrecked from this winter. Low profile tires do not take kindly to that. I've been through this in the past and I fear for the Speedstars.

don't remember, but possibly not.
that was an old battery as well.
there were a lot of variables involved in that failure i am sure.
also never was a very good battery anyway...
