So i started looking around and found the mazda mpv imrc controller from the early 2000s. Does anyone know if these would work with our cars? Im pretty sure that this was from when ford owned mazda and it would be a good cheap replacement since these can be found for 60

You may be onto something.. If you look up the IMRC controller for the 2000 Mazda MPV for example, it's clearly the same "package," but with one cable instead of two. the photos of the box even include Ford logos.

I can't think of many "v" configured mazdas though, and not a one appears to utilize an IMRC. It could work, but will likely require some crafting.

The Lincoln Aviator may be a smart place to look, too. Theirs looks similar, and has two cables.

I found some pics of a mpv one on ebay that had both wires. Maybe theres another mazda one out there that im missing. Also wondering if the internals would be changed a little

It also looks like there were some made for an expedition 5.4 that utilizes some metal arms to lift them, appears to be the same plug in port.

I need to see if theres a way to open these boxes and check out the internals
