I got a better shot waiting for the light at the bridge today.

VIII Mark VIII's :D

I took these backwards shots by holding the camera backwards in the convertible, some came out OK.

You can see the convertible boot, then Rene, Daniel, Joe, Tixer, Brad, driller, and beerdog.:)

I'm posting this from the car right now.

Why is that?

Bill's Ile, doesn't have a lot of traffic. The perfect place for a little "crash course" in clutch operation..

Which brings us to this moment..

Just crossed into Wisconsin, ETA for home, 12:51 am..

Remember how you were saying the cell tower signal needs to be limited to prevent roaming to canada? Soo this morning my IT departments asked me if I went on a business trip to Canada this weekend since they received alerts about me roaming. :)

Ha!

also, I'm impressed that your IT department has enough time (or so little to do) that they can be that proactive about roaming fees.

Yes, that can be a problem, mostly on the east side of the Island.

I actually live just 3 miles west of Canada.:)

Detroit is north of Canada:D

It has more to do that he received a message saying I was roaming. Since I do not have international roaming turned on by default he turned on that service a few other international services. Then he saw me in the hallway today. Our mobile international costs are high due ot all the travelers so they watch the costs closely.

Here's the tow truck as captured by my noise monitoring system. It sent me real time email alerts with sound recordings, but this is the actual data with the sound recordings.

It was around 80 dB overall level, and you can see the loudest part is the back up beeper of the truck. That's the red bands in the lower graph, the spectrogram, you see it's around 1250 Hz (I clicked on it for the cursor box values).

I just took a movie of my computer to make it easy to post. I select a couple of the sound recordings in the data, it was around 2:55 AM. You can hear the beeping, and you can also hear the crickets. :D

Awesome!

This is what precipitated the event. About 4 hours into the trip, just minutes after stopping for fuel, the message center gave the warning for low coolant level. A quick glance at the temp gauge and the OBD2 monitor did not show overheating but with another service station in sight, I decided to pull in and stop the car to investigate. I was immediately greeted with an ominous cloud of steam...

It appeared to be coming from the passenger side firewall area...

IMG_29561.JPG

Here, you can see the coolant escaping at the heater hose connection.

This was the tow truck we rode in for the final 2 hours to Bill's place...

That audio recording is great, Bill. I'll bet your neighbors really loved us that weekend! :D

It was great to see everyone, I'm sure glad we made the trip.
