My new 8...

I got myself a new daily driver car today. This car will be replacing my 97 Mark VIII.

It's a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT, Stryker Blue Mettalic paint, fairly rare--one of 1,111. 49k miles and happens to already have a Magnaflow stainless steel cat back exhaust. They were asking $21,986, but I was able to talk them down to $20,500, AND they're ordering me a few items that were broken/missing.

I don't have any GOOD pics yet, but here are a couple I took once we got it home today. It's not perfect, but it's just little stuff. I drove it 100 miles home today and had the cruise control set at about 75, and averaged 28.6 mpg the whole way. Not bad for a 355hp 6.0 liter engine in a car weighing about two tons.

Oh nice! My buddy has one and is running low12s with cams/longtubes/tune. The first thing I noticed riding in his car is the torque comes on early and hard compared to the Mark8s. Enjoy!

a great looking car, Jay.

I've wanted one of those since they came out. With the "holden" conversion kit, of course. :D

Very nice, like the color! I can also do a hoodliner for the G8s! It should be the same car as the Australian Holden Commodore. Enjoy it!!

Very nice car, and izackary I couldn't agree more. My other car love is 96 and earlier Impalas, had a 96 for 5 years and miss it everyday. The new Impalas are a mockery to the name and need to be banned from the roads!

My grandad had (blue) Impalas up into the 80s until they were discontinued, then he bought an '85 Buick. Over the next 20 years it accumulated maybe 60k miles, so he never replaced it. If he were alive and in the car market, no doubt he would have bought a G8 as well! :)

Thanks guys!

Yeah Mike, it would be pretty sweet to do a Holden conversion to one of them. There was actually an almost completely converted car on one of the G8 forums not that long ago for only $22 or $23k.

Gonzo, I'll have to think about that hoodliner. Not a bad price. Do you have any pics of a G8 with one installed?
