So we went today and took a test drive. It was a race red GT. Loved the drive and overall loved everything about it. Although I didn't get into it all the way I could tell it might be too much for my aging reflexes. I'll be 80 in May. :)

Maybe I'll settle on the economy 4 cylinder model, LOL

If this happens I'll be selling the Mark I guess.

You can still find newish low mileage Towncars. :p

Seriously though, you only live once. Do it!

Re-reading my post it sounds like I'm really large and couldn't get into it. I meant I didn't get into the throttle all the way. :)

Lownslowlsc. Where in N Illinois do you live? I'm in the McHenry Crystal Lake area.

Well, my son has GT Anniversary model and he loves it. You can dial it into "granny mode", where it tames down the tune etc on the car. When you feel like exercising it you just switch over to track mode. With all this snow and bad weather he has been using "granny mode" a lot.

My grand daughter, senior in high school, has one also. She has the 6 cylinder version and it also has an excellent response and feel.

Thanks for the comments. My wife talked me into the Mark almost 17 years ago.:) We just bought a '15 Subaru 2 months ago so I'm a bit leery right now. The salesman at the Ford dealer is going to call me when they get a EcoBoost with automatic in so I can go test that.

I need AWD for my inclined driveway that's why the Subaru.

Keep the Mark
You might be right. The Mark is worth much more to me than anyone else because I know the original owner & he bought it when he was already on social security. That would be me! :)

I really like the new Stang but I couldn't trade my Mark for it :frown-blue:

Have something against the AWD Fusion or Taurus? :wink2-green

If your wife wants a Mustang, tell her to go ahead and buy one. :D

I rented a 6 cylinder Mustang while on vacation, It was ok, but I'd rather drive one of my Mark VIII's.

I Like both of them. Too bad they don't make a Fusion SHO.
I was saying instead of a Subaru. I think they have lost their identity with all the Toyota influence; the older Subarus looked unique the new ones look like Toyotas. Last one I really liked was the mid 2000's Legacy GT.

We really have no chance of a performance Fusion until they have plans to make a Mondeo ST in Europe. A Fusion ST with a 2.3L EcoBoost and a 6 speed manual would be awesome! :love-it:

I test drove an automatic Mustang EcoBoost over the weekend. Not as fast as the GT I drove a week or so ago but it really gets up and goes. It had the performance packages with the 3:55 rear and it was very easy to break the rear end loose starting out in drive.

I don't think the Outback looks anything like a Toyota. Now the infotainment does look like what's in a Toyota seeing as that's who developed it for Subaru. Not the best feature of the car however. Now the grill does look like the grill on a Taurus however. The only difference is a black oval instead of a blue oval. ;) Mines the same color.
