Got a nasty scratch, about 2 feet long. Whats the best way to repair it besides a body shop?

no pic. It goes into the base. car is black, scratch is white. maybe 1/10 in wide x 24" long on the lower door

it is a scratch -- and a good one -- through the paint into the primercoat (as you can see white) I dont think wax will work
You could do what the dealer who sold me my car did...
Touch it up with a black magic marker. :-( It came off on the first wash.
My scratch went all the way to the metal, but was more of a sqiggly line about two inches square. My body shop touched it up for nothing (I'd sent some business their way a while back). I could've just done it myself, but they did a pretty good job of building it up. You can still see it if you look for it, but the only alternative was to repaint the entire door.
