Went to put new tires on yesterday and on the way home, that message center display first showed that my washer fluid was low and then it said check air suspension. So, when I got home (stopped), I ran through the check list and got the all ok messages. Was wondering if this could be due to an older battery (don't know how old it is so plan on replacing it soon), some kind of sensor, or......? I know there are many glitches that occur when the battery is low in my '04 Tbird so was wondering if it could be similar. Help?? Thanks.

Check your voltage, and alternator out put. Yes, with all the electricals on the Mark Vlll battery condition is very important. The air ride message could has occurred because the sensors might have been over traveled during tire change. Did you turn off the air ride switch before lifting the car? It is mandatory to do this. That said I just had both my Marks serviced, and even after I turned off the air rides, and drove them home and let the cars sit for a day, I got an air ride alarm in one. I shut the car down, cycled the switch (in the trunk), and the light stayed out. Just those little gremlins running around. It's been several weeks, and all is well. Hope this helps. Washer fluid light issue could be battery related or a stuck float sensor.

This is exactly what happened when my Alternator failed.. Definitely check your battery and alternator..

This also happened when the wiring for my crank position sensor shorted to ground.. so I'd guess other wiring faults could trigger it, but I'd definitely check the charge system first.

Well, went in this afternoon and got a new battery (old one was 4 years old) and had the alternator checked. Everything seemed fine and then, once again, on the way home, the check air susp. light came on. Guess I'll wait until later and check through the system again. Air is up and ride is okay so it's something in the sensors or???. Just another day in paradise!

Can you hear the air suspension compressor running from inside the car?

If your air bags are leaking and the compressor runs for 90 seconds it will time out and you will get a check air suspension warning.

If a go around a long cloverleaf ramp with anything less than 1/2 washer fluid level I get a check washer fluid message.

Good luck.

Went out a while ago and restarted car. The suspension aired up and I could hear the (what I assume is) compressor. When I was getting the battery installed, the service guy turned the switch in the trunk off and then on again. Both times, at shop and at home, I could hear the compressor and it's louder than I thought it would be. Is it suppose to sound 'ratchety'? I'm use to the air system on tractor/trailers not cars. Can't hear the compressor on them unless they're needing repair. I'm not sure what's next but I'll bet it's not gonna be cheap! When the tires were replaced, the 'tech' put it on the lift without turning the air off. I caught him and he then turned it off. He said it didn't hurt anything but I'm beginning to wonder.

The compressor is mounted on rubber isolators that collapse with age. Even an unworn compressor will be loud with old isolators.

The compressor is located in the passenger fender well behind the splash shield.

You may want to check your height sensor mounting and wiring. They are attached to ball studs on the upper control arms.

Guess the shop has an air suspension tech who's going to give it a good going over next week. The message to check air ride came on after I hit 65+ mph and then slowed down in town. Thinking it just might be a height sensor thing. But, what do I know? At any rate I decided to call that car R2D2 because it just keeps 'beeping' at me and I don't know what it's saying. I am hoping that it's just going to be insulators or something small like that. So far it doesn't seem to have air bag leakage. I just want to get it out on the road somewhere besides my house to the shop. Maybe next weekend. It's time to break out the 'bird anyway. I haven't driven it for over a week.
