Neon Parking/Stoplamp Not Working

It was just a matter of time that the Neon Parking/Stoplamp would quit working. I am surprised it lasted as long as it did!

Anyone know where to get a new or used working lamp and new or uesd or rebuilt ballast?

Without the neon lamp, the rear tail and brake lamps are marginal at best. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

As long as you cant see broken glass in the bottom of the unit, you most likely have a burned out transformer (ballast). Until you can replace the ballast, disconnect the power plug that is behind the interior trim on the trunk lid and replace the burned out fuses so you will have tail and brake lights. It will be near the rear, on the passenger side of the lid. Send an e-mail to "glitchm@hotmail.com" and see what he is charging for his homemade ballast. They used to be around $100, and I've never heard of one failing. They come with excellent directions on how to R & R them with pics.

As these cars get older (gee believe it or not), there are more and more neon tube failures (lose glass pieces are not always the only indicator of it).
Have the tube tested before you shell out any money.
Hopefully all you need is a ballast though.

I will remove the blast this coming weekend. I will also check to make sure the tube is not damaged.

Brake and tail lights are woring Okay.

OCCUPY LoD :)
Find a local Neon Sign making shop and they can test it for you...some even on the car.

Just a hunch...did a tree fall on it!? Haha

The one I got failed, after a couple years. New one is working good.
