Hiya everyone.

Just snagged a 1997 Continental off Craigslist.

My name is Chris and I'm from Denver, Colorado. I own a mustang (1996 GT) that I swapped a '04 cobra motor into (made 496 RWHP on the dyno; 491/491 on the street tune.)

Anyways, saw this Lincoln and fell in love. 32v V8, air ride, must have!! lol.

A buddy of mine had a '96 way back in the day, and boy was that thing smoooooth.. I remember the trick instrument cluster, a very good stock stereo, and adjustable steering and suspension sensitivity. Super futuristic stuff, for 1996..

The cobra-swapped Mustang sounds like a hoot, too. I can't wait to see photos of both.

that's exactly how i felt about this thing... automatic-adjusting mirrors in reverse? my parents '06 300C does that! fully adjustable power seats up front? YES! air ride? dont mind if i do!.... not bad for 20 years ago, eh? lol.

The fully loaded ones even came with front and rear heated seats and a electric moon roof. Damn...


As for pics of the arsenal, I'll work on that. The pony needs a wash something bad.

what's all under the hood of your lincoln? How'd you get to a 5.3 stroked out (5.0) and bored-to-hell 4.6? Why didnt you opt into dropping in a 5.4?

After modifying everything but the block, I decided to change it up and had a short block built using the Boss 5.0L modular (cast iron) block. With the stroker crank, the displacement yields 5.3L. Since the Boss block has the same deck height, it physically has the same external dimensions with a 3.700 bore vs. the 3.500 bore of the stock 4.6L block.

If you didn't know what to look for you would never know the difference.

i believe it is a Boss 5.0 block with a 5.0 stroker kit, totaling 5.3 liters.
the 5.4, not matter how you cut it, is not a good fit for this platform.
the 5.3s outer dimensions are effectively identical to the 4.6 that was removed, making a swap ideal, as well as reusing all the original sensors and wiring. its how i would have done it.

ah. the mighty boss block. I had a teksid kicking around up until i realized how strong the boss was. Now that there's an option that's available over the counter, why hold onto garage ornaments? lol.

Which stroker kit did you end up going with? I have a link up who's willing to sell me his cheep, but I just dont have the funds right now.
