New member for Wisconsin

Hello All,

I own a 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC. My family and friends tell me to get ride of it, but I can't. I have owned her now for 10 years, she was beautiful when I bought her. Since then the clear coat has given me a natural rally strip. I've had the rear suspension switched over to regular, kinda miss not having that feature. Currently I have no gitty up and go when peddle is put to the floor and shifting cable takes all my strength, I've read about some advise on here about that, and hopefully that will fix it. I'm hoping to get to know and talk to more people who enjoy their Lincoln as much as I do.

Welcome, from just across the border in Minnesota. I lived in Wisconsin for 10 years, and sure can't complain about the place. It's easier, as I really don't care at all about the sports rivalries.

Welcome to the forum! And as a bonus, I know exactly what's happening with your shifter, as I went through it myself.

Start reading this thread at Post #12, and keep going. It's not a hard fix, but you'll need a new MPLS. Not so much because it's the problem, but you'll have to smash it to get to the problem. You'll need to spend some time under the car with a wire wheel or some kind of emery paper.

Thank you. I read as requested. Do you or anyone else know the part number for the MLPS? I also plan to order the pisten, springs and retainer. I found 3 parts at amazon and one spring at autonationford. I also read about sensors. Should I get these, are they needed, OSS and/or VSS?
