Hello all! First of all I'd like to say thank you very much to some of the prominent forum members (the only handle I can specifically remember is Driller). The information I've gotten off this site has allowed me to completely eliminate my misfire! Unfortunately my China blue Mark VIII has a strange, unsolvable (to me, so far) problem but that's for another thread, another time. You may have seen this if you're on the Facebook enthusiast page.

As said above, I'm from Oregon. Along with my 1993 Mark I also own a 1985 BMW 635csi (my DD), and a 1998 Jaguar Vanden Plas.

Looking forward to contributing to the forums!

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I'm fairly new to forums (was part of mb world briefly when I had a 300e) and am wondering what's the best way to upload pictures here?

Welcome! I like your taste in vehicles. We need pictures of the Jaaaaaaaaag, too..

As for posting them, non-paying members have the ability to post directly to the forum after making five posts or so, but have limited space on the server. Resize to a lower resolution, and crank up the compression, to maximize this. Or pay the ($20?) membership if you think you'll be around for a while, and go to town. I'd reccomend the latter, of course. But I like these folks.

Alternatively, links to photo hosting sites like photobucket are usually interpreted by this forum's software, and displayed in-line.

Sounds good and will do! I think I'll be signing up, as the info here easily replaces the $20 spent on a Haynes manual. If I can get the Lincoln running right soon, I very well may keep it for a while.

We're old fashioned, gotta get a mod to change things. Thank you for the support.

You'd be better off using the Haines book for heat then tech info. Try looking on eBay for a dealer book, they can be had cheap if you keep an eye out for them. Everything else we can fill you in on.

Nothing wrong with being old fashioned.
As far as Haines books, I agree. I don't usually purchase them as any info can usually be found online with the correct search terms.
Thanks again everyone.

Welcome to the Lincolns of Distinction Car Club!

... any info can usually be found online with the correct search terms.
The problem with that logic is sifting through all the misinformation. :(

The proper way to limit your search to usefulness is with Google's site specific search operator...
