New radiator

So about a day after replacing the hose my radiator decided to crack. What would be a good replacement?

Right now the idea is a stock rad, cooler thermostat and replace the lower hose

Got it, a little cheaper from rock auto though. Bleeding the airs gonna be a pain, from my experience it's a big trial and error. Not entirely sure how to do the T-stat on these cars but that's where the search function comes in lol

That's never really worked out for me for some reason, I usually just have to go for a short drive then open the coolant res (very slowly) right after that. After about 3 times the air is out of the system

yeah, the air doesn't come out of the reservoir.
it needs to be removed from the crossover, as detailed quite well in Reische Performances post.

I mean... It worked... I drove quite a bit without any overgeating or engine issues.

I'll give the other method a try with the new rad

You need to let the engine cool down and recheck the coolant level at the crossover before opening the coolant reservoir. Top off the reservoir to the full cold level after capping the crossover. Repeat as required.
