ok so here is the deal i was driving my car the other day and it stalled. i got it to fire back up with out too much drama then i made it about a mile down the road it it shut off again. that was 2 days ago and the car still has not fired back up and i just now got it back to my house. i am getting no spark, my fuel injectors are not getting the "fire" signal, and my fuel pump is not coming on. all of the relays are good all of the fuses are good. im getting power to the fuel pump relay but no ground. i have the main power and trigger power but no trigger ground. i can jump the relay with a piece of wire and i get fuel pressure but nothing with the key. so somewhere im missing a important ground its something in the front of the car cuz i have the nasty smell of burnt wires coming out of my grill.

im clueless i have checked everything i can check besides putting a scan tool on the car and im not sure if that would even tell me anything. any one have any other ideas of what to check or how to check it? jamie said it could be the VCRM but he does not know how to test it any one know how to test the VCRM??

Now the question is what took the other one out?

I would have the cooling fan checked - it may be pulling more amps than it should.

yeah you may have a junk fan in it too. if the fan is pulling to much current or if your ac compressor is faulty it could have been the reason why the vcrm fried.

my ac compressor is sold and the fan is ran to a relay and a switch inside the car so neither are going through the vcrm. i do have a stock mark fan in the car now though so it still should not bother the vcrm any ways.

bummer, because the fuel pump is one of the few other things the VCRM co ntrols.. maybe it's "smoked"..

ALSO the VCLM contains the "injector drivers"...so you cant eliminate it all together.

OCCUPY LoD :)
LOL! :har:

According to my EVTM, the VCRM is for the A/C clutch, fuel pump and cooling fan. Nowhere does it seem to interface with the injectors???
+1

It only applies to the above, not the injectors.

ya thats what i was thinking. there is not much info on this piece anywhere on the internet i was surprised i thought you could find about anything on the net? i opened the box up and mine did not just melt it looks like it caught on fire. there are a few computer chips inside and they lifter right off the board with VERY little pressure. i have never seen any electrical component burnt this bad. a week leter and it still smells bad while i was taking it apart i got a head ache from the smell and it takes alot to give me a head ache not even gas will do it to me.
