no more 97, car shopping all day

well, its official, my 97 is gone. its on its way to indiana right now. getting the wife and kids into the 98, going to eat breakfast and then going to check out some vehicles. and none of them will be mark VIII's! its been a long time with marks for me, and i am moving on for good. i loved all my marks but i dont want anything to do with them anymore. so long Ryan enjoy the car.

i think i found my replacement i should know tomorrow. looking at a 2001 silverado 2500HD 6 liter auto fully loaded with leather onstar heated seats, its a 4 door short bed with class 3 hitch and a gooseneck hitch in the bed. aluminum HD wheels champagne paint with gray leather. very nice truck and the price is killer. full details if i end up with it. it is exactly what i want.

nope far from good, it was a scam like everything else on craigslist. why? what do people get out of trying to scam their way through life what the hell happened to honest people just trying to make a living. no instead lets post a pic of a truck we dont have and tell some story like my sister had a car accident and has head trauma so i am out of state, but i have the truck with a consignment company and you can pay them the invoice and you have 10 days to return the truck if you are not happy blahblahblah yeah ok lol who falls for this crap?

it was the vss gear. the tune was for 430's the vss gear was the stock 3:27 gear once i changed it, things improved alot.

thanks but i live in florida and thats way out of my price range! i think i got a deal locked in. its 2 hours away from me in deland fl near daytona beach. i am either going after work tomorrow or thursday to look at it and possibly buy it. its a 96 silverado extended cab 3 door, 150k, super clean inside and out, fully loaded 350 auto, ice cold air, brand new tires, nice custom dual exhaust with flowmasters $3g's cash and i can have it. southern rust free chevy. i'm pretty sure its a done deal she was very detailed about the truck in our phone conversation. she needs a small 4 door 4 banger car, and her husband has a 2010 titan, they dont need both trucks. this thing is also garage kept.

Looks like a super deal on such a solid, rust free pickup, well worth the money, even at 150 K. That truck is very similar to my '96 Silverado, they are great trucks.
It's amazing that you won't be a Mark 8 owner any longer, Jamie, but I hope you'll still be on the site, your expertise would be missed by many of us!

thanks marc, and to all the others for the kind words. i will still be here, maybe not as much as the past but i do still own a 98 lsc too! my wife has no plans on giving that car up so i will still be here. going tomorrow after work to check out the truck and from what i have heard and seen i will most likely end up buying it, it sounds like a great well cared for truck. the fact that its garage kept blows my mind lol who keeps an old silverado in the garage, specially in the florida they dont build garage's down here deep enough for a truck this length so it must be a nice house too!

i hope all goes well because i have alot of stereo components that i never put in my mark, i had a nasty system in the mark so this truck is getting a serious sound system. i am hardcore about my music and i like it to be really loud if i feel the need. i will not cut any corners on this, lots of room to play without compromising space. this truck will be with me for quite some time so i want to jazz it up a little!

well i bought it. what a killer riding pick up! i have never said that about any pick up but this thing rides like a brand new truck. and i am already blown away the difference in gas used vs my mark with the 4:30 gears. this thing was sniffing gas on the way back last night. i drove over 120 miles back home in it, i filled it when i left their house and today almost 24 hours later its only 2 lines below Full. its pretty clean outside, interior is real nice, i have it in my garage right now i am about to shampoo the interior and do the whole inside first, then i will attack the outside. i am very pleased with what i bought, after i get my hands all over it and tweak it my way it will be great. but i got a real nice truck for 3 grand. i will post some pics as i go. but for now, out to the garage to crank some tunes and clean!!
