Oil Leak location

So I have a slow oil leak in my 97 Mark VIII.

It seems to collect on the drain plug, but I know that is not where it is leaking due to it being "wet" above it.

I know the Oil Filter Adapter Gasket typically goes bad, but supposedly it was replaced recently.

Is there something else that commonly goes bad and leaks?

Kicker: It leaks faster when parked and the front end is lower than the rear. I had it jacked up in the rear and front normal height and it leaks significantly faster.

My brain says that the O F A G is bad, but I'm not sure.

Is the best way to tell is degrease everything and watch it? Help is appreciated.

Could be several sources. Oil filter adapter gasket, oil filter gasket, oil pan gasket or oil level sensor.

Since it leaks worse when the rear is higher than the front, my guess would be the oil pan gasket.

I have a similar symptom from my transmission when the car is jacked up like that and left overnight or longer. I suspect in my case, it is the pan gasket or the dipstick tube o-ring.

I'm assuming the oil pan gasket requires dropping the subframe?

All others sound like in-car repairs. Maybe I'll have J. take a look at it.

My guess would be oil pan gasket, yes you have to drop the k.
I would replace the oil filter gasket when it was dropped, or check it real good.
I don't trust work done by other people.
It would also be a good time to go after the power steering hose, it gets the crap kicked out of it during oil changes.
