Ohh NOOES!
What is it about SHHS that brings this irony about. Been there done that, had mine screaming good, then bam..... Just read the enitre thread. I come in late always and try to catch up on reading while eating dinner.
Im sorry to see your baby crumpled a little, but the real important thing is LIFE, yours and the idiot. Glad to hear youre alright and them too.
Its a loosing battle with the rip off insurance companies to pay you what it was "worth". All they see is a NADA bluebook price. But it back from them and get a salvage title. When its all fixed up, noone will know the better and youll still have it. Question here is, it it just superficial 1/4 panel, or did it get to the frame?
Dont let them total it like mine, then the VIN is destroyed forever. Let them salvage title it and pay you for the loss. I made big mistake taking total price from them after fighting with them for a while about the price. I still got screwed over, but it will all wash out in the end when i get the other one on the road.
Holy crap, still cant believe it. It was tried and true and ready. Maybee God dont want us in blue cars.....haha My next one is black and is sitting in the garage undergoing transformation.
Is that shop new? I read in some of the posts your new garage. Lets see it. I just put up a lil 24X30 but havent walled it in yet. Put that beast on a trailer and bring it to a bodyshop, let them cut that 1/4 off, and weld on a new one and give it back to ya. The rest looks pretty straightforward bolt ons. Hel mine still has a bent front bumper , but the styrofoam cover nose still fits over top of it so its staying. The frame is straight.
I say milk the insrance company, stand firm to those rip offs, and fix the blue flame. It looks bad to an onlooker, but once you pull off the crinklies, and see it underneath, im pretty sure youll change your mind. Mine is sitting naked in the garage next to the other one with no nose front denders or interior/dash in it. She looks ugly now, but i can see it in the future. Just got the other black one done today and dropped it off to the paint booth for new paint.
FIX IT! FIX IT! Its your new mission over the winter and we'll all hit SSHS next year. I think Marvin should be ready then too.
Whats going on with the white one? Shes pretty as well. I would be tempted for a conversion but its cheaper and lesss time consuming time wise to fix up the flame. Its bascly done, just needs to be straightened out and ironed a little. Keep your head up and push on.
