check your date code on the battery this will eliminate any doubt if your battery is used or new . The company that produces the battery should have a break down chart of your date code on their website. Most car batteries last 5 to 7 years and by the way did you check your starter

Had alternator tested at 3 places and they all said it was bad

I can get an Ultima for $165, Carquest or ToughOne for $157, or Duralast for $156...those are their cheapest ones

The Duralast has a lifetime warranty so I will probably go with that....I called about it and he said as long as I own the car it will be replaced for free no matter how long I have alternator.

Don't buy a China one, a lot of us have had failures with non OEM ones. Best to get yours rebuilt and it's usually cheaper.

Even with a lifetime warranty you don't need to be stranded.

Where would I have it rebuilt? BTW I'm in Lima, oh....and how do I know I don't already have a cheap china alternator, there's no brand on it, I'll try to check the numbers...it looked alot like the Ultima they showed me

It does say "Japan", and " remanufactured in Malaysia"

Look around for companies in your area that rebuild motor and starters. The shops can be pretty common. Pople don't rebuild car alternators much re, but other types of machinery have very expensive alternators, motors, and starters. These shops will usually rebuild car stuff also. I was talking to a shop by me once. His big money makers were starters and alternators for heavy equipment like ships, tractors, and construction equipment. He said it is not uncommon for them to cost $10K new.

Well for ****s and giggles I looked this up on the locator for you...

Ford part #F3LY10346ARM
Motorcraft part #GLE326RM

List price: $277.73
Cost: $166.64

Closest place to you that shows it in stock is what looks to be a Motorcraft distributor. More than likely they won't sell it direct to you but if you know someone that works at a Ford dealer I'm sure they can purchase it without a problem; maybe even for cost +10%.

The alternator was replaced before I bought the car...it looks new to me and my neighbor...I'll test that too tomorrow if the battery comes back good
Doesn't matter. Alternators period are notoriously bad. I went through a (US?) reman, and a mexico "new" alternator before I got a third one to actually work on my old jeep. I've noticed that other car brands have similar issues.

The alternator, like any electromechanical device, will have early life failures. OEM parts have them too, just not as frequently.
